Meet Alex (She/Her)
Alexandra "Alex" Norton has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, a diploma in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from Algonquin College and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Additionally, Alex recently obtained her status as a Play Therapy Intern with the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT) and is working towards full certification.
Over the past several years, Alex has obtained experience working with children, youth, adults and families in various community settings and has supported them through various life challenges and stresses.
"The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered, there is opportunity for growth."
Alex holds a special place in her heart for individuals with exceptionalities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
During her sessions, Alex hopes to create a safe space where she can support all her clients through understanding, kindness and acceptance.
She believes that she learns just as much from her clients as they do from her. Alex aims to work collaboratively and in a meaningful way with all her clients. She is eager to learn from therapists and clients she has the pleasure to work alongside.
