Mental health and physical health are deeply connected.
Those living with mental health challenges are at higher risk of experiencing many chronic physical conditions. Conversely, those living with chronic physical health conditions are more likely to experience poor mental health. Taking care of your mental health is a key part of taking care of your overall physical health and wellness.
The link between body and mind is powerful.
Experience a real & relaxed approach to narrow the gap between you and your therapist.
Laura & her associates follow 4 core values...
We pride ourselves on making you feel comfortable, at ease and ensuring you feel understood.
We go above and beyond to meet your needs. If we can't help you, we will connect you with someone else who may be able to.
We model openness, honesty and genuineness in our approach as therapists. Connection is our priority.
We honor the fundamental value of equality and fairness for all.
We are dedicated to promoting an environment of respect and appreciation for all identities and expressions at the intersections of ethnicity, race, nationality, sexual/affectional orientation, gender, size, age, physical and mental abilities, religion/spirituality, socioeconomic status, and immigration status.
At Laura Gatien & Associates, our therapists value the dignity and worth of all people.
Our therapists are committed to inclusivity, affirmative, intersectional and anti-oppressive practice. We are committed to creating and maintaining an atmosphere of openness, trust, and safety. While fostering a space of acceptance where all attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors can be freely discussed and explored.
Territorial acknowledgement: We respectfully share that we live and practice as guests on the unsurrendered and unceded Traditional lands of Wolastoqiyik and along Wolastoq (beautiful and bountiful river). We are committed to Piluwitahasuwawsuwakon (a Wolastoqey phrase that advocates for actions toward Truth and Reconciliation) as we engage and work with Indigenous peoples.

Covid19 Updates, Virtual & In-Person Counselling Sessions
As of March 14, 2022 the province has removed all Covid-19 measures.
Masks are now optional and we recommend everyone take their own protective measures, especially if you are at higher risk.
We continue to offer both in-person & virtual sessions. Please call to switch to a virtual appointment if you wish.
Please note 24 hours notice is required for appointment cancellations* as a time commitment was made to you and was held exclusively for you. This also allows us the time to offer the appointment to another client who is waiting to be seen.
Please call (506) 651-1239 for any appointment changes. Thank you.
*There will be a half session charge for all late cancels (less than 24 hours notice) and a full session charge for no shows.
Our Free Friday drop-in program will remain hybrid (both in-person and virtual therapy offered), but we recommend a phone call session if you are able to call. If not, please drop in. We are here to provide support and guidance every Friday from 1-4 pm.
