Relationship Counselling in New Brunswick

Relationships are at the heart of our lives, whether they be with a partner, a family member or even a close friend. When those connections feel strained, distant or filled with conflict, it can be painful, confusing and lonely. You may find yourself stuck in the same arguments, walking on eggshells or feeling more like roommates than partners. But you don’t have to stay stuck.

Relationship therapy can help you find your way back to each other.

How we can help

Whether you’re navigating a major life change, healing from a breach of trust or just feeling disconnected and like you have drifted apart, therapy provides a safe and supportive space to:

  • Improve communication and reduce conflict

  • Rebuild trust and emotional intimacy

  • Understand and break harmful relationship patterns

  • Strengthen connection and empathy

  • Navigate decisions around parenting, separation, or commitment

  • Heal after betrayal or infidelity

  • Set healthy boundaries and express needs clearly

  • Understand your own needs in a relationship

  • Adult siblings or parent-child relationships

We offer relationship counselling online and in-person in Saint John and Fredericton.

How Relationship Counselling Works

In our sessions, we work together to understand the unique dynamics of your relationship, explore what’s not working and build practical and emotional tools for change. Our therapists create a non-judgmental space where each person is heard, respected and supported.

Depending on your needs, we may meet as a couple, individually or both. You’ll learn to:

  • Communicate more effectively and with compassion

  • Identify triggers and understand your own and each other’s emotional responses

  • Resolve conflict without escalating

  • Deepen intimacy and connection

The first step in connecting with a relationship counsellor in Fredericton or Saint John is to fill out this form. Based on your requirements, we’ll match you with someone we feel is best suited to help you and your partner.

Counselling sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually, whichever you prefer. Sessions typically run 50 minutes long. How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule.

You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.

How much does relationship therapy cost?

Sessions with a registered social worker (RSW) or licensed counselling therapist (LCT) are $150 for 50 minutes.

For Family, Couples, EMDR or Play Therapy, sessions are $160 for 50 minutes.

Our counselling fees are not covered by Medicare but are covered by many extended health insurance plans.

Our clinic has therapists who are either registered social workers (RSW) or Licensed Counselling Therapists (LCT).

You must check your specific plan for what you have coverage for, as coverage is different for each policy. Verify that your plan covers counselling/therapy with a MSW, RSW or LCT. Your insurance may state you have coverage for clinical counsellor or psychotherapist, which would cover LCT or social worker.

We also offer direct billing with many different insurance companies, which allows you to keep more money in your pocket. We can direct bill Blue Cross, Veterans Affairs (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Canada Life, Claim Secure, Chamber of Commerce, Work Safe, NIHB, Department of Social Development, and more provided your plan is set up for direct billing. Your are still responsible for any co-pay amounts at the time of service.
