About Me

Hello! I'm Ricky McIntyre, a dedicated social worker passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals across various age groups. My focus is on providing support to children, youth, and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, sexual and gender identity, behavior challenges, relationships, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My Experience

With a background spanning mental health, schools, community development, research, and group homes, I bring a wealth of experience to my practice. This diverse experience has allowed me to establish connections with different resources and programs in the areas I serve. My commitment to making a difference is evident in my ability to navigate various social work fields.

My Approach

In my approach, I prioritize offering the right support to guide individuals through life transitions, stress, and challenges. My goal is to create a supportive environment that fosters healing and growth. Whether it's through counseling, therapy, or other interventions, I am dedicated to helping people navigate the complexities of their lives.

Who I See

I work with children, youth, and adults, addressing a wide range of issues, including mental health concerns, relationship challenges, and identity exploration. My practice is inclusive, and I strive to create a safe space for everyone I work with.

My Practice

I am a certified Play Therapist, one of only two in New Brunswick. Play Therapy, a versatile approach not limited to children, utilizes playful methods such as art, games, play, and dance to help individuals express their vision of the world and heal from challenging experiences. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed therapy, providing comprehensive support for a range of therapeutic needs. Offering services in both French and English, I am dedicated to providing accessible and effective support to those in need.
