Do you ever find yourself questioning your career path? Or if you are in the right job?

I have had many conversations with people who have gone into their field of work for the money, security, convenience, societal pressure or because someone in their life told them it was a good idea.

Many are pushed to do something that “makes more money” by their loved ones. My family encouraged me to do a science degree as it would "lead to more lucrative jobs"...they did not consider I could barely pass grade 10 math and loved the arts and people.

If you don’t feel it in your heart, if you can’t imagine yourself in your field feeling energized and excited, then don’t do it for any amount of money. Listen to your intuition. It is ok to start small, or start out at the bottom and work your way towards what you really want.

As therapists, we help people to find their passion and figure out how to make it happen. You deserve to enjoy what you do every day. Working in a job you don’t like makes the days pass slowly and leaves you feeling frustrated and unfulfilled.

No amount of money can compensate for this. Many people tell me they would do things differently if they had a second chance. The time you spend at work consumes most of your adult life.

It is NEVER too late......life is short. Plan, work hard and have the courage to go for what you have always wanted! When you are working in something you are passionate about it helps you overcome obstacles.
