Kyle Bolt (Him/Him)
Clinical THERAPIST, BSc, MACP, LCT-C
Saint John & Virtual Across New Brunswick
My Approach
I approach sessions with a person-centered focus, while integrating principles and concepts from an existential lens that is centered on helping clients find a sense of meaning and control in their lives and live the life they want. Most of all, I recognize that the number one predictor of success in counselling is a strong therapeutic alliance. For that reason, I am always willing to tailor sessions to meet the specific needs of my clients based on their identified goals and specific reasons for seeking counselling.
Who I See
I work with adolescents (14+) and adults. Although I welcome a diverse range of clients, most of my experience is working with individuals experiencing challenges with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive patterns, substance use and relationships. My first language is English, but I also speak French!
My Practice
In our first sessions, we will take the time to conceptualize and understand your presenting challenges and goals for therapy through history gathering and rapport building. I often find that clients entering therapy can be quite frustrated with themselves because of the issues or challenges they’re facing, which is why I will always start with compassionate inquiry to help you better understand the root causes of your challenges and develop greater capacity for self-compassion.
From there, you and I will collaborate on setting goals together and developing a plan forward. I will tailor my approach and interventions to your specific needs. At the end of the day, I feel that therapy works best when you feel a sense of autonomy and that you are being truly listened to. For that reason, I am always focused on remaining non-judgmental, authentic, and open-minded in my practice.
I offer in-person sessions in Saint John, as well as virtual and phone sessions.
About Me
I’m Kyle Bolt. My interest in mental health began as an adolescent when I was navigating through my own struggles. Wanting to learn more about myself led to my pursuit of a degree in psychology. Nowadays, I am passionate about helping others navigate their own mental health journey and whatever challenges life throws their way. I strongly believe that counselling works best when a strong therapeutic alliance can be built on the principles of trust, a sense of safety, and a desire for self-growth.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, exploring New Brunswick, travelling and gaming.
My Experience
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked with teenagers and young adults navigating substance use challenges for years. I am also particularly interested in topics such as anxiety, addiction, depression and obsessive-compulsive behaviour. I’ve gained valuable experience working with clients facing these challenges through an internship with Just Us Counselling.
I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2020 and my Master’s in Counselling at the University of New Brunswick in 2025. I originally considered a career in experimental psychology, but discovered my passion for applying counselling psychology to help others overcome challenges and attain their goals in life.
