Work & Career Counselling in New Brunswick
Work is a big part of our lives — it shapes our identity, finances and daily routines. But when your job starts taking a toll on your mental health, it can affect everything. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out or uncertain about your next step, career counselling can help you find clarity and confidence again.
WHEN TO SEEK CAREER COUNSELLING
You don’t need to be changing jobs to benefit from counselling. We support adults and professionals at all stages of their careers — from recent graduates and new employees to mid-career professionals, managers, executives and those planning retirement.
Many of our clients are:
Feeling overwhelmed or burnt out at work
Questioning their career path or struggling to find purpose
Returning to work after a break, illness or parental leave
Facing workplace conflict, job loss or toxic environments
Trying to balance demanding work with personal responsibilities
Whether you’re navigating change, managing stress or searching for meaning in your work, you don’t have to do it alone.
How career counselling helps
Career counselling goes beyond job searching or résumé writing. It’s a space to understand what truly matters to you, so your work can align with your values, strengths and goals. Counselling provides both emotional and practical support to help you feel more grounded and confident.
We can help you:
Cope with burnout and workplace anxiety
Build confidence and assertiveness at work
Navigate career changes and transitions
Manage imposter syndrome or self-doubt
Identify your strengths and career interests
Explore new directions or career changes
Set healthy boundaries and improve work-life balance
We’ll work together to explore what’s holding you back — emotionally, mentally or practically — and help you build a plan for meaningful, sustainable change. Our goal is to help you feel grounded, capable and fulfilled — both in your career and your personal life.
How It Works
The first step in connecting with a work and career counsellor in New Brunswick is to either fill out our intake form or book directly with one of our counsellors online. If you’re not sure who to book in with, you can take our therapist matching quiz — a quick and easy way to connect with an available therapist who’s the right fit for your journey. Alternatively, you can call our booking coordinator at 506-651-1239 Ext. 1 to get matched right over the phone. Our booking coordinator takes great care in thoughtfully matching you with a therapist who fits your needs, preferences and availability.
How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule. You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.
Sessions are flexible, available both in-person and virtually across New Brunswick and designed to meet you where you are.
How much does counselling cost?
Sessions with a registered social worker (RSW) or licensed counselling therapist (LCT) are $150 for 50 minutes.
For specialty therapy, including Family, Couples, TRIP, EMDR or Play Therapy, sessions are $160 for 50 minutes.
Is counselling covered by insurance?
Our counselling fees are not covered by Medicare but are covered by many extended health insurance plans.
Our clinic has therapists who are either registered social workers (RSW) or Licensed Counselling Therapists (LCT).
You must check your specific plan for what you have coverage for, as coverage is different for each policy. Verify that your plan covers counselling/therapy with a MSW, RSW or LCT. Your insurance may state you have coverage for clinical counsellor or psychotherapist, which would cover LCT or social worker.
We also offer direct billing with many different insurance companies, which allows you to keep more money in your pocket. We can direct bill Blue Cross, Veterans Affairs (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Canada Life, Claim Secure, Chamber of Commerce, Work Safe, NIHB, Department of Social Development, and more provided your plan is set up for direct billing. Your are still responsible for any co-pay amounts at the time of service.
