Meet Laura (She/Her)

Clinical Therapist

Laura is a mental health advocate who is committed to redefining the experience of going to therapy and has vowed to create mental health supports that will make the experience meaningful and therapeutic for you.

She has a special interest in first responders and reducing the stigma that comes with breaking the culture of silence and helping to build lifelong resiliency in these careers.

In addition to various clinical frameworks, Laura uses the wisdom & learnings that come from her personal struggles - balancing mental wellness, motherhood and business ownership - to support clients using a vulnerable and real approach. She is warm, has a good sense of humor and values a genuine connection with her clients above all.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology & Sociology from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Thomas University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Waterloo. Laura has been a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers since 2011.

Laura has diverse experience working with individuals and couples on a range of challenges in a variety of fields, including anxiety, depression, burnout, parenting, sexual health issues, self-esteem issues, domestic violence, family & relationship issues, and chronic & life-threatening health conditions.  For couples, Laura practices from The Gottman method which is based on years of research and aims to improve emotional connection, improve friendship, communication, intimacy, and respect towards one another.

Laura is working towards certification with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). This specialized training gives her the advanced skills necessary to assess and treat the sexual concerns of individuals and couples. Read more about Sex Therapy...
