Sexuality, Gender & Identity Counselling in New Brunswick

Sexuality, gender and identity are deeply personal parts of who we are. For some people, these areas bring clarity and confidence. For others, they may bring confusion, grief, fear, pressure or pain, especially when identity has not been understood, accepted or supported by others.

Therapy can offer a safe, affirming space to explore who you are, process past experiences and strengthen your sense of self.

Identity Development & Self-Worth

Building confidence, self-acceptance and a stronger connection to your values, needs and sense of self.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about supporting you in understanding yourself more fully and feeling safer, stronger and more grounded in your life.

In therapy, we may work together to:

  • Explore identity, orientation, gender and self-expression

  • Process experiences of rejection, shame, discrimination or trauma

  • Build confidence and self-acceptance

  • Strengthen boundaries and communication

  • Navigate family, cultural, religious or community pressures

  • Support relationship and intimacy concerns

  • Develop coping tools for anxiety, depression or emotional overwhelm

Our therapists offer affirming, trauma-informed and culturally responsive care tailored to your experiences and goals.

Who We Work With

We support:

  • Teens and young adults exploring identity, gender, sexuality and belonging

  • Adults processing identity-related stress, relationship concerns or past experiences

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals seeking affirming mental health support

  • Parents and caregivers looking to better support a child or teen exploring gender identity, sexuality or belonging

Whether you are questioning, exploring, transitioning, coming out or simply seeking a space where all parts of you are welcome, therapy can help.

We are committed to providing respectful, affirming care for individuals of all gender identities, expressions and sexual orientations.

How It Works

The first step in getting support is to fill out this form. Based on your requirements, we’ll match you with someone we feel is best suited to help you. Alternatively, you can take our quiz and get matched with an appropriate therapist for your needs.

Our therapists use trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, somatic strategies, attachment-focused therapy and cognitive therapies — always tailored to your unique needs and readiness.

Counselling sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually, whichever you prefer. Sessions typically run 50 minutes long. How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule. You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.
