Counselling for Anxiety, Mood & Emotional Health in New Brunswick

Anxiety, low mood, anger or overwhelming emotions can quietly shape your daily life. You might find yourself overthinking, shutting down, reacting more strongly than you’d like or feeling unlike yourself. Sometimes there’s a clear reason. Other times, it just feels heavy without explanation.

Whatever you’re experiencing, it makes sense in the context of your life β€” and it can change with the right support. Therapy provides a structured, supportive space to understand what’s happening and learn practical ways to feel more steady, confident and in control.

What we help with…

We support children, teens and adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns, including:

ANXIETY

Persistent worry, racing thoughts, muscle tension, sleep disruption or a constant sense of β€œwhat if.” Anxiety can show up at school, at work, in relationships or seemingly without a clear trigger. It can look like spinning thoughts, fear of conflict, difficulty making decisions, overthinking conversations, people-pleasing, avoidance of situations that feel overwhelming, or feeling constantly β€œon edge.” Many people with anxiety appear highly capable on the outside while internally feeling exhausted from managing their thoughts and worries.

ANGER

Irritability, emotional outbursts or difficulty regulating strong reactions. Anger often sits on top of deeper emotions such as hurt, fear or frustration. It can show up as impatience, snapping at others, feeling easily triggered, holding onto resentment, or struggling to calm down once upset. For some people, anger turns inward and becomes harsh self-criticism or shame.

panic

Sudden waves of intense fear, shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness or feeling like you’re losing control. Panic attacks can feel frightening and unpredictable β€” but they are manageable with the right support.

low confidence and self-worth

Harsh self-criticism, impostor feelings, people-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries. Therapy can help you develop a more compassionate and grounded sense of self.

DEPRESSION

Low mood, loss of interest, fatigue, hopelessness, difficulty concentrating or feeling numb. Depression can affect motivation, relationships and daily functioning, even if you can’t pinpoint exactly why.

grief & loss

The death of a loved one, relationship endings, health changes, identity shifts or life transitions. Grief is not linear, and it doesn’t follow a timeline. It can show up as waves of sadness, anger, numbness, guilt, longing, or even moments of relief or confusion. People often feel pressure to β€œmove on,” yet grief tends to resurface in different ways over time. Having space to process loss can help people integrate the experience while continuing to move forward in their lives.

PHOBIAS

Intense fears related to specific situations, objects or experiences that limit your daily life. These fears can feel overwhelming and out of proportion to the actual risk, leading people to avoid certain places, activities, or situations altogether. Phobias can trigger strong physical reactions such as panic, sweating, rapid heartbeat, or a sense of losing control, and over time the avoidance can begin to shrink a person’s world.

Self-Harm, Suicidal Thoughts & Trauma

If you’re struggling with urges to harm yourself, recurring thoughts of not wanting to be here, or the impact of past traumatic experiences, you deserve support that is compassionate, safe and non-judgmental. We approach these concerns with care, collaboration and evidence-based strategies focused on safety and healing.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy offers a space to slow down and understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we can:

  • Learn practical tools to manage anxiety, panic and emotional overwhelm

  • Build emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Process grief and past trauma at a pace that feels safe

  • Strengthen confidence and self-trust

  • Develop healthier boundaries and communication patterns

  • Create a personalized plan for healing and growth

Who We Help

We support:

  • Children and youth navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, school stress and life transitions

  • Teens facing mood changes, identity exploration, peer stress, self-harm concerns or low self-esteem

  • Adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties and life transitions

  • Parents and caregivers seeking support in understanding and responding to their child’s emotional needs

Whether your struggles are recent or something you’ve been carrying for years, therapy can help you feel more grounded, more supported and more equipped to move forward.

How It Works

The first step in getting support is to fill out this form. Based on your requirements, we’ll match you with someone we feel is best suited to help you. Alternatively, you can take our quiz and get matched with an appropriate therapist for your needs.

Our therapists draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, somatic strategies and other evidence-based modalities tailored to your needs.

Counselling sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually, whichever you prefer. Sessions typically run 50 minutes long. How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule. You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.
