Meet Margot Stafford (She/Her)

Counselling Therapist

Margot works with adolescents and individuals to identify and unpack the things that are making life hard. Margot adopts a trauma-informed, collaborative approach that honours the wisdom of each client. She believes with empathy, curiosity and connection, pathways to hope and agency can emerge.

Uncovering negative beliefs, developing self compassion, and setting boundaries are cornerstones of Margot’s work (as well as figuring out why they can be hard to do.) But her eclectic style includes techniques and practices from narrative therapy, Internal Family systems, somatics, mindfulness, and expressive arts. She has worked with clients who have experienced trauma, addiction, interpersonal violence, betrayal, loss, grief, climate anxiety, life transitions, and career changes.

Margot has a Masters in Counselling from Regis University in Denver, CO. She is a Licensed Counselling Therapist - Candidate (LCT-C) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Before becoming a counsellor, Margot spent 15 years teaching college English and writing.

"The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered, there is opportunity for growth."
