About Me

Hello, my name is Samantha. I am a registered social worker in New Brunswick, and I am currently working on my Master's of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am excited to walk this journey with you. I received my Bachelor's of Social Work through the University of British Columbia-Okanagan, in 2011. My background includes teaching different groups around parenting, skill-building and community building. I have experience running an educational group in an ADHD program and enjoy working with adults and children in this therapeutic setting. I enjoy working with DBT and CBT therapy modalities and using various therapeutic tools to move on this wellness path. I strongly believe in volunteering and have volunteered for Community Futures in Vernon, BC, as well as the British Columbia Association of Social Work- Okanagan branch.  I believe in the value of education and I'm always looking for new training and new courses that I can take to further my skills and understanding of others.

My Approach

My approach is empowering people by using mindfulness strategies to build self-awareness, emotional regulation and capacity to manage everyday stressors.

Who I See

I work with individuals who are looking for compassionate care in a safe place while building an individual plan to manage life stressors, ADHD, anxiety and depression. I believe that when we work together we can be successful in our path to new understandings, empathy, and healthier choices in our life.
